Giving The Living Room a Facelift

I really have been a busy little bee! We've lived in our cozy cottage for a little over six months. It's finally starting to feel like it's our own. Testing my husbands patience, no doubt, I have proceeded to begin an overhaul of the entire house. The living room is the first on my list.

I wish I would have taken a true "before" photo to show the drastic difference. When we moved in it looked, well, old. The metamorphasis began with a dose of Glidden Sand White paint on the walls. Oh, and I removed the gold sheers and gold curtain rods.

I then added new bamboo blinds, canvas curtains, and another couch (we inherited for free... like almost everything else we own).

I covered the couches with new cream slipcovers, exchanged the  pillows for prettier ones and voilĂ ! Transformation!

I'm loving the change but still have quite a few more projects on the docket.  I''m sure my hubby is thrilled!

Well, At Least She's Listening

Friday was errand day. I had an almost insurmountable list of things to get done. Baby G was all ready to go. I was rushing around finishing up getting ready for the day so I told Little R to go get her hat and shoes on so we could go. These were two tasks I knew she could do without my help. She happily responded, "Okay, Momma!" and was off to accomplish them. When I came around the corner into the kitchen this is what I saw.

It stopped me in my tracks. In case you were wondering, yes, that is a garbage lid on her head. She's also wearing my boots. This kid cracks me up. It's never a dull day with Little R. She helps me to remember to slow down and just enjoy life. As for all of my crazy tasks, I did eventually accomplish them but not without being distracted by TJ Maxx... more on that to come. Hint: It has something to do with my previous post that promises pictures of the house. tehehe.

Note to Self: Decorate House

It has become very apparent that in order for me to get my house put together, I need to have more people over. Nothing motivates more than friends staring at blank walls to get me in the mood for decorating. Needless to say, I've been a busy bee. I'll get some pictures up in a week or so. I just have a couple more projects to finish.
